We are back!

We are thrilled to announce an in-person IBM Z Customer Council in New York City

There have been many developments in the IBM Z world, and we would like to highlight some of the most exciting topics in modernization across the platform.

Our first speakers will kick off the day by exploring how GenAI-assisted watsonx solutions can reshape your mainframe learning, operations, and application modernization efforts, making life easier for developers, system programmers, and operators. Jay Manickam and Ethan Mendel will feature live demonstrations of IBM watsonx Assistant for Z and IBM watsonx Code Assistant for Z, showcasing how GenAI-driven solutions can optimize operations and help uncover applications, explain code, refactor services, and seamlessly convert COBOL to JAVA.

Next, Andy Armstrong will provide insight on how to expose the incredible value of IBM Z Batch Resiliency (IZBR) through watsonx Assistant for Z. Since watsonx Assistant for Z can expose automation within your Z environment, IZBR can allow its users to leverage the skills framework driven through watsonx Assistant. In this session, Andy will demonstrate how the team has linked the solutions together, and how you can do it too across many other use cases!

After lunch, Monte Bauman will present on Linux on Z & z/OS co-location solutions. Since your z/OS workloads are pretty important, what could be more important than making your z/OS workloads (and data) more accessible, more understood, more flexible, and more performant?  Why not put the power of Linux on your IBM Z machine with apps, tools, and methods that bolster your z/OS workloads.  This session will provide an update on “Linux on IBM Z”, technologies and capabilities, and solutions oriented towards z/OS workload modernization.

To help us close out the day, Ray Newsom will look ahead at our next generation of enterprise compute. Today, IBM Z enables real-time AI inferencing in high-volume transaction processing–increasing productivity, creating new revenue streams, accelerating decision-making, reducing cost and risk, and improving service. In this session, Ray will discuss our next AI era given the announcement of the new IBM Telum II Processor and IBM Spyre Accelerator. These technologies will enable a substantial increase in the amount of acceleration in our next generation mainframe and support a broader, larger set of AI models including LLM’s and generative AI.
