The IT landscape is continually changing. We will cover how the mainframe platform has evolved to deliver new business services and capabilities and how you can harness them.
Our first speaker will start the day with a look at LinuxONE and Linux on IBM Z. From this session, expect an appreciation for how and why LinuxONE servers are built the way they are, leading to a discussion on how and why the workloads commonly seen running on LinuxONE run so well. In particular, expect to learn why a single core on LinuxONE is equivalent in capacity to 15 (or more) x86 cores and the ramifications in cost and value resultant to the vast simplification from vertically scaling infrastructure that results (i.e. lower your risks, reduce your costs, and improve your operations). All of this is wrapped with resiliency, security, and sustainability features inherited from IBM’s premier Server the IBM Mainframe.
Next, we are honored to have Bryan Foley join us to provide an update on the State of IBM Z. Clients are very interested in how the IBM Z & LinuxONE business is doing and where it is heading. Lately, there has been a lot of positive press and analyst statements around the resurgence of the mainframe. We will give a deeper understanding of these dynamics and what is driving it. We will also discuss our strategic focus and insights around AI, modernization, simplification, and innovation.
Then, Jennifer Walker will explore the synergy between DevOps and generative AI in a hybrid cloud world. Enterprises demand excellence and quality in every delivery of change. During this session she will explore the foundations of DevOps and Generative AI, all in the context of a hybrid cloud application.
As the needs of a business grow, everyone in the organization benefits from their access to data. Much of the enterprise’s structured data originates from the transactional data on the IBM Z platform, therefore the integration of your IBM Z into your hybrid cloud data fabric ensures the right security and governance while facilitating improved real-time business decisions. In this final session of the day, Lloyd Matthews will talk about the IBM Z platform as a part of your enterprise data fabric strategy.
