Let’s get back into the “swing” of things!
For our Spring session, we would like to showcase some of the most exciting developments around IBM Z.
To kick off the day, Steve Warren will discuss what’s new in z/OS 3.1 and how to get the most out of it. This session will cover the latest developments in the product, including how we have infused AI into the operating system to provide the highest levels of availability. You will also get an introduction to the implementation of z/OS 3.1.
Next, we will cover modernization with CICS Transaction Server. CICS version 6.1 brings significant new functionality for both application developers and systems programmers in the areas of security, resource definition and deployment, operations management, and automated DevOps pipelines. Steve Fowlkes will review the recent enhancements to CICS for z/OS including availability of the newest CICS release.
Finally, IBM watsonx Code Assistant (WCAz) is a solution that leverages generative AI to accelerate code generation and increase developer productivity. It uses AI to support Application Modernization and IT Automation with IBM Z Application Modernization as the latest use case. Dashawn Matias will introduce WCAz and explain how it can incrementally modernize and re-factor COBOL business services and selectively transform code into high-quality Java code.
After the presentations, you are welcome to stay and play some golf in our reserved golf bays!
