Introduction
IBM is pleased to invite you to our Cloud Native DevOps powered by Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Z and LinuxONE workshop*.

This workshop will cover these topics:

• Benefits of adopting a microservices strategy for your applications
• Cloud native DevSecOps strategies and tooling
• Benefits of the IBM Z and LinuxONE platform for hosting cloud native applications
• OpenShift on IBM Z and LinuxONE as part of a greater multi-cloud ecosystem

During the lab portion, participants will use OpenShift Pipelines to build, deploy, update, and test a Java application the cloud native way. This includes:

• Building an application container
• Running automated tests on the build
• Deploying the application and its database to OpenShift Container Platform
• Testing for successful deployment on the development cluster
• Deploying a successful development app to staging
• Bonus: Validating application security with SonarQube code scanning quality gate before creating application image

Audience
• DevOps and cloud application development community
• Technical representatives interested in learning more about OpenShift’s capabilities on IBM Z

Prerequisites
• Students will need to create a LinuxONE Community Cloud OpenShift Container Platform trial
• Students will need a GitHub account.
