Join us!
There have been many developments in the IBM Z world, and we would like to highlight some of the most exciting topics.
To kick off the day, Steve Warren will discuss what’s new in IBM Z hardware and z/OS. Our next generation of IBM Z delivers the most secure and innovative mainframe yet, empowering you to modernize, streamline, and automate at scale. This session will cover the latest developments in the platform, including how we have infused AI into the operating system to provide the highest levels of availability. You will also get an introduction to the implementation of z/OS 3.1.
Next, IBM Distinguished Engineer Frank De Gilio will discuss Mainframe Simplification. The advent of modern languages and tooling on z/OS has revolutionized the way people can interact with the platform. This provides users with exciting new opportunities to access and use it. Considerations around the adoption of new tools and processes are numerous. Frank will explain how the “why” and the “what” are critical when attempting to simplify mainframe integration and management.
After lunch, Jack Opegnorth, will introduce our newest addition to the Observability space. IBM Z IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS® is advanced performance analysis software designed for mainframe environments, including CICS, Db2, Systems, MQ, Storage, z/OS Connect, and IMS. This session will be a live demonstration showing how the powerful capabilities of IntelliMagic Vision bring enhanced visibility to metrics across the Z platform to enhance performance and availability at your site. Jack will discuss types of capabilities that enable you to derive actionable insights from your SMF data demonstrated through actual use cases.
Following that, David Rossi will cover IBM’s Security Compliance Center (zSCC). Compliance audits are often a major time drain, taking staff away from more pressing efforts to satisfying auditor’s demands and stitching together data from multiple sources. The IBM Z and LinuxONE Security and Compliance Center will help take the complexity out of your compliance workflow and the ambiguity out of audits.
To end the day, we will take a look at Server Consolidation. Pedro Acosta will provide some success stories highlighting how to simplify management and reduce costs.
