We will kick off the day with IBM’s newest z17 Updates where Kenny Stine will take you through a look at the z17’s core design and architecture. Explore the new Telum II chip improvements in the cache design and how it works within the system as well as changes in the memory. We will cover the layout of the I/O subsystem, new adapters, and discuss some of the new features coming to the Z – updates to Flexible capacity for Cyber Resiliency, the new AI Inferencing Accelerator, and the new Spyre adapter. We will review physical planning consideration for the system covering the power, layout, site tools and environmental stats as well as explore coupling considerations, STP, and the HMC strategy for the IBM z17.
Next, Evolving Solutions’ Jim Fyffe and Roger Ecklund will present details on how IBM Z is enabling organizations to strengthen their cyber resilience strategies. The presenters will highlight the power of Safeguarded Copy and Cyber Vault in protecting critical data, minimizing downtime, and accelerating recovery in the face of cyber threats. Learn how these capabilities integrate seamlessly with IBM Z to deliver a secure, resilient foundation for modern IT operations.
To close out the day, Steve Warren will present What’s New in z/OS 3.1 (and 3.2). z/OS 3.2 has just been announced on April 8 and will be generally available at the end of September this year. Description:
In December of 2014, Surly opened the new Destination Brewery, increasing production capacity to 100,000 barrels a year. Construction progressed through the coldest Minnesota winter in more than three decades, and record spring rainfall. The Surly way is not the easy way. Just a decade after the idea of Surly Brewing Co. began, the brewery is expanding distribution beyond Minnesota. Looks like Surly Brewing will be sticking around.
