Introduction
IBM is pleased to invite you to our IBM Cloud Hyper Protect Services workshop. IBM Cloud Hyper Protect Services protect containerized Linux® workloads on IBM Z® and LinuxONE throughout the application lifecycle – from build to deploy to manage. Now you can be confident that applications and data are private and protected from a variety of internal and external threats.

This workshop provides a primer on IBM Cloud Hyper Protect Services. You will gain hands-on experience with IBM’s unique Secure Build process to build a secure Open Container Initiative-compliant image and deploy it inside a FIPS 197-compliant protected memory enclave. Additionally, you will learn about and use IBM’s Hyper Protect Crypto Service, which is built on a FIPS 140-2 Level 4-compliant Hardware Security Module.

Audience
This workshop is geared towards technical representatives. Some hands-on experience with Linux and Docker is helpful but not required.

Prerequisites
1. Students will need an IBM Cloud account with either the Pay-As-You-Go or the Subscription pricing model. The lab will be using the free tier Hyper Protect Virtual Server service so students will not get charged as long as they are not already using their allotted two free Hyper Protect Virtual Server instances for other purposes.
2. Students will need a GitHub account.
