We are back!

We are thrilled to announce the return of in-person IBM zSystems Customer Councils in Salt Lake City.

During our absence, there have been many developments in the IBM zSystems world, and we would like to highlight some of the most exciting topics.  We will cover how the platform has evolved to deliver new business services and capabilities.

Kenneth “Kenny” Stine – IBM z16 Update
This session will look at the IBM z16 3932’s core design and architecture. Exploring the new Telum chip improvements in the cache design and how it works within the system as well as changes in the memory. We will cover the layout of the system including new footprint changes and discuss some of the new features coming to the IBM z16 like the new AI Inferencing Accelerator.

Elpida Tzortzatos – Unleashing the Power of AI on IBM zSystems: Enabling AI for Enterprise Success
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is important and applicable to all aspects of our clients’ business, and AI adoption continues to rise in businesses around the world.  In this session, we will share our IBM zSystems AI Strategy and cover the new AI capabilities IBM has delivered with z16’s Telum chip to enable clients to leverage AI at scale and in real-time on every business transaction to improve fraud detection, deepen customer insights and drive faster IT decisions to create new revenue opportunities. In addition, we’ll discuss a broad range of AI use cases that demonstrate the benefits of leveraging AI in enterprise applications.

Robert Catterall – Powering Your Hybrid Cloud with Db2 for z/OS Data
Let’s take a step back from high-concept jargon and get down to brass tacks. Just what is a “hybrid cloud,” anyway? What is the place of Db2 for z/OS in a hybrid cloud? What is meant by “data gravity,” and is that concept incompatible with high-performance analytics involving Db2 for z/OS data? How can you get Db2 for z/OS data “closer” (literally) to cloud-based applications with minimal CPU cost and minimal latency? What is a “data fabric,” and what is the easiest way to give Db2 for z/OS a seat at that table? These and other questions will be answered in this session.

Steven Fowlkes – CICS & CICS Transaction Server v6.1
CICS, the world-class mixed language application server, has been running customer core applications reliably for many years. CICS harnesses the power of IBM Z and z/OS to provide a secure and scalable platform for transactional workloads and allows integration in a hybrid cloud architecture. CICS TS 6.1 provides an excellent foundation to modernize your applications in a stepwise manner that is low risk. During this session we will discuss new features around enhanced developer productivity, improved security and compliance management, and additional foundational capabilities.
