Join us for an exciting and informative event!
In this session, you will hear about IBM’s newest developments.

There have been many developments in the IBM Z world, and we would like to highlight some of the most exciting topics.  We will cover how the platform has evolved to deliver new business services and capabilities.

Jerome Gilbert, Keith McKnight, and Phong Vu – Watsonx Code Assistant for Z
Artificial intelligence (AI) has gone from a world where enterprises are thinking about running their business and doing some AI to help it (+AI), to a world that is AI first (AI+). The leading companies will be the ones that transform themselves to be AI first.  Application modernization is a topic that every IBM Z client is focused on. Their principal challenge is to accelerate application modernization to better support business transformation initiatives in the organization.   This session will share IBM’s PoV on Application Modernization entry points for the IBM Z platform and demonstrate how Generative AI accelerates that journey.

Shelly Meierarend – Z Skills Programs & Offerings
Come learn all about what IBM has available to offer clients through various programs and offerings.  Shelly will share how the IBM Z Global Skills Accelerator Program is wildly successful amongst our clients and that many are continuing to use it as a consistent pipeline into their hiring and skills development.  Also, working with local universities around the world they are conducting Z Career Connection events that bring clients, universities, and students together.  They are also gearing up for a Virtual Career Fair that you can take advantage of in April.  These are just a few of the programs and offerings that you can start utilizing and taking advantage of today!

Robert Catterall – Project Db2 for z/OS Data Into a Cloud Environment with Db2 Data Gate
Leveraging data gravity by accessing data on systems of origin has several advantages, but sometimes you want to launch a portion of your data into orbit. When it’s Db2 for z/OS data we’re talking about, the ideal launch vehicle for projecting that data into a cloud environment is IBM Db2 Data Gate. In this session, you’ll hear how Db2 Data Gate enables access to Db2 for z/OS data without accessing Db2 for z/OS, and how Db2 Data Gate can accelerate bringing Db2 for z/OS data into a data fabric and into a data lakehouse.

Ahilan Rajadeva – IBM z/OS Container Extensions (zCX)
IBM z/OS Container Extensions (zCX) is a feature of z/OS that provides z/OS users the capability to deploy Linux on Z workloads as a containerized solution on z/OS address space and manage them as one composite entity using z/OS operational controls while leveraging z/OS Qualities of Service.  The latest zCX Foundation for Red Hat OpenShift product is aimed to provide an open, enterprise-level orchestration, cloud-native tools and cloud architecture components on z/OS using zCX to integrate z/OS with your hybrid cloud infrastructure.  Come to this session to learn and discuss requirements, installation steps, license, trial, capacity planning, several use cases patterns, and co-location benefits, integrated operational efficiency, overall solution control benefits, and the qualities of service of z/OS that are transparently inherited by the composite solutions.
