This session looks at new products and enhancements that are part of the overall transformation of the Db2 for z/OS user experience from developer to database administrator.  We cover the recently released (June 2021)  IBM Db2 Administration Foundation for z/OS, which is the strategic product replacement for administrative capabilities found in both Data Studio and Data Server Manager.  It offers one consolidated browser-based user interface, the IBM Unified Experience for z/OS, that is built on top of the open-source Zowe Virtual Desktop and provides the ability to interact with Db2 assets based on the task you want to accomplish.

We will also discuss Db2 Developer Extension, an extension for Visual Studio Code (VS Code).  If you’re a Db2 developer and not familiar with VS Code, learn about the great, no-charge features provided for your Db2 application development work in this product.

Both IBM products release features via continuous delivery.  We’ll cover the latest enhancements for SQL Tuning.  Join Patrick Bossman, IBM STSM for Db2 and Db2 Tools Architect who will tell you more about these offerings, including product roadmap and how to obtain.
