You are cordially invited to the Washington D.C. IBM Z Customer Council; a community built to strengthen and support Washington D.C. IBM Z clients. As we understand your challenges, we will share experiences, deliver expert guidance, and provide a network of executives focused on the success of your IBM Z system environments.

We’ll kick off the session with, Elton De Souza, will be presenting on IBM Cloud Paks, which are enterprise-grade, full-stack cloud solutions, integrating a container platform, containerized IBM middleware and Open Source components, and common software services for development and management, that reduce development time by up to 84% and operational expenses by up to 75%.

The next session is on Transforming Business with Linux on IBM Z Workshop. Emily Farmer, Alex Feinberg, and Angshuman Roy will present IBM’s strategy for digital transformation and commitment to hybrid cloud and multi-cloud.  They then build on the proven qualities of the IBM Z platform – superior performance, resiliency, and security – by expanding the conversation to include Linux and container technology.  They present the technical and competitive advantages of running Linux and containers on Z compared to commodity servers, for traditional business workloads (e.g., core banking) but also for transformational workloads (e.g., cloud-native) running in a hybrid multi-cloud environment.

During Lunch, Brendon Walker will be speaking on all the New Z Announcements for all Z Software and Hardware.

Following, John Wolfgang, Senior Technical Architect, Vicom Infinity will discuss IBM® DS8900F and TS7770 the next generation of enterprise data systems built with the most advanced POWER9™ processor technology. Designed for data intensive and mission-critical workloads, DS8900F adds next-level performance, data protection, resiliency and availability across your hybrid multi-cloud solutions through ultra-low latency, better than seven 9’s availability, transparent cloud tiering and advanced data protection against malware and ransomware. Learn about the new DS8900F family details and an overview of the latest advanced features available in IBM’s newest enterprise data system.

Wrapping up the day, Setareh Mehrabanzad will talk about IBM’s Hybrid cloud infrastructure. Users can now have the security and control of on-prem architecture plus the scalability of public cloud, for the best hybrid cloud strategy. Hybrid cloud IT solutions provide Greater Privacy and Protection, Lower TCO, and Lower I/O latency. All of this and more can also run with Red Hat OpenShift.
